Over the years, Selay has gained extensive experience in the film industry, either as fixer, cameraman, script writer, DoP or producer. He has also acquired many other skills necessary to work in the field. From pre-production to locking the cut, Selay has a sound understanding of the job. He is not only able to identify a good story but can also write a story and transform it into an outstanding audiovisual piece. He knows how to go through a script (and find a location that suits the script).
Selay has handled solid projects and collaborated with established companies like Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, The Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting, National Geographic and Netflix.
All through his career, Selay has been driven by the intense belief that filmmaking offers a huge opportunity to create awareness and touch people’s lives. He has (co)produced about a dozen heartbreaking and impactful documentaries, some of which have won international prizes & awards.

Selay is also a radio man, having worked with renowned brands such as RNW (Radio Netherlands Worldwide), BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) and SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation)'s Channel Africa, etc. His career in broadcast journalism has involved writing, producing, editing news, and bringing stories to the public in a prompt and coherent way. Sometimes present on the ground to cover breaking news, as they unfold, Selay has always ensured news broadcasts run smoothly.
